Pocket Monsters (ポケットモンスター, Poketto Monsutā), commonly abbreviated to Pokemon (ポケモン) is a Japanese multimedia franchise created by Satoshi Tajiri. The franchise began with the original games (Red, Blue and Yellow) created for the Gameboy console, in which 151 creatures known as Pokemon could be caught and trained in battles. Nowadays the franchise consists of numerous games, a manga, an animated series and movies, a trading card game, and much more.
As of the creation of this page, there are now 1025 Pokemon!
My Pokémon Journey started at a very young age, when I watched the anime series on television every morning before heading to school. I don't remember if I had a favourite Pokémon back then, but I did have a pikachu lamp and a pikachu tamagotchi like the image you see here on the right (an online recreation of which is available here!).
I played my first Pokémon game when I was around 11 years old. I never owned a console, but was introduced to emulating on PC by my nephew. He printed out instructions for me on how to download everything, and pretty soon I was playing my very first Pokémon game, which was the Gold Version for the Gameboy Color.
